Ernest has arrived in Cambodia

Good News! Positive Life Radio program director and on-air announcer, Ernest Beck, has made it to Cambodia. Twenty hours after leaving Sea-Tac airport he is safely at the hotel in Phnom Penh, Cambodia.

For the first couple of nights the team is gathering at Hotel Cambodiana, an old classic that has had a lot of remodeling over the last few years. They will acclimate to the time zone and heat, visit the soboring Killing Fields, and much more that I'll let Ernest share as it happens.

The river in the background of the photo is the famous Makong. It is the longest river in Southeast Asia, the 7th longest in Asia, and the 12th longest in the world. It has a length of about 2,700 miles (4,350 km). Rising in southeastern Qinghai province, China, it flows through the eastern part of the Tibet Autonomous Region and Yunnan province, after which it forms part of the international border between Myanmar (Burma) and Laos, as well as between Laos and Thailand. The river then flows through Laos, Cambodia, and Vietnam before draining into the South China Sea south of Ho Chi Minh City (formerly Saigon). Vientiane (Viangchan), the capital of Laos, and Phnom Penh, the capital of Cambodia, both stand on its banks. About three-fourths of the drainage area of the Mekong lies within the four countries the river traverses on its lower course—Laos, Thailand, Cambodia, and Vietnam.

We are praying for other Rice for Cambodia team members that are also arriving over the  next day. Thank you for joining us in praying for them as they visit the Killing Fields - always a very sobering experience.

Kevin Krueger - posting for Ernest - who hopefully is sleeping as I write this.
